About Myself & Embodied Journey Counselling

I’m a counsellor and the founder of Embodied Journey Counselling, where I offer a grounded, attuned, and compassionate space for people who are ready to explore their emotional world, untangle what feels heavy, and reconnect with themselves in a way that feels safe, rooted, and real.

As someone who is part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, and as a veterinary technologist with over 15 years of experience, I hold lived understanding of the emotional labour of caring professions; the burnout, the compassion fatigue, the quiet grief, the identity change, the transitions, and the stories we carry in our bodies.

I am an MPCC-Provisional with the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA) and a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor Candidate (RTC-c) with ACCT. My approach is integrative and client-centered drawing from somatics, nervous system regulation, narrative therapy, and trauma-informed practice.

At the core of my work is the belief that healing grows through authenticity, safety, and self-acceptance. I would be honoured to walk alongside you as you come home to your inner steadiness, resilience, and wisdom.

My Approach & Why This Matters To Me

My counselling approach is integrative and flexible, blending somatics, nervous system regulation, polyvagal theory, distress tolerance skills, parts work, and narrative therapy.

I specialize in supporting caregivers – tending to nervous system overwhelm, compassion fatigue, burnout, and identity erosion that can happen when you are the one who is always holding it all.

Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in veterinary medicine for over 15 years as a registered veterinary technologist. I understand from lived experience the emotional landscape that care professionals hold within themselves. The constant holding, the pace, the responsibility, the unprocessed grief. I’ve held it and I’ve felt it all before.

This background shapes how I support veterinary professionals, including RVTs, veterinarians, support staff, and those in adjacent animal care spaces.
I also support pet parents through the many transitions that unfold through the lifespan of their pets — from joyful beginnings to anticipatory grief and end-of-life care.

What It Feels Like To Work Together

This is not a space where you need to show up masking as “okay.”
This is a space where you get to slow down, breathe, and return to your own pace.

I trust that transformation comes from subtle, embodied shifts, not force.
Not urgency.
Not collapsing under pressure.

Reconnection comes from remembering who you are — not becoming someone new.

If you feel this might be a good fit, let’s chat!

I’d love to connect and hear where you are at, what you’re navigating, and what you’re hoping to shift or settle into next.

You don’t have to do this alone.

Embodied Journey Counselling gratefully and respectfully acknowledges that we work, play, live, and heal on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem), səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), qʼʷa:n̓ƛʼən̓ (Kwantlen), qiqéyt (Qayqayt), and Stó:lō (Sto:lo) peoples.
